1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ShortList: Wedding Venues ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ShortList: Wedding Venues is a mobile application that helps users compare and evaluate wedding venues through structured questionnaires and scoring. The App provides tools for objective venue comparison but does not guarantee the accuracy of venue information or suitability of any venue.

The App is designed to work fully offline. All venue data is stored locally on your device. Certain features (venue search via Google Places, subscription verification, and optional analytics) require an internet connection.

3. User Responsibilities

When using ShortList: Wedding Venues, you agree to the following responsibilities:

• You are responsible for the accuracy of venue data you enter
• You must not use the App for any unlawful purpose
• You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data using the export features provided
• You must comply with all applicable laws when using the App

4. Subscription Tiers and Features

The App offers free and paid subscription tiers. Each tier provides access to different features:

We reserve the right to modify features available in each tier. Material changes will be communicated through the App.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings
• If a payment fails, your subscription enters a billing grace period (typically 16 days) during which you retain access while the platform retries the charge
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their respective policies
• Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency at the point of purchase

6. Downgrade and Venue Deletion

If your subscription expires or you downgrade to a lower tier, and you have more venues than your new tier allows:

• You will be asked to select which venues to keep within your new tier's limit
• Unselected venues are placed in a 3-day deletion queue
• During these 3 days, you can still export data from queued venues but cannot edit them
• After 3 days, queued venues are permanently deleted from your device
• If you resubscribe during the 3-day window, all queued venues are restored

7. Promotional Codes

The App may support promotional or VIP codes that grant access to premium features. Promotional codes:

• Are non-transferable and may only be used by the intended recipient
• May grant time-limited or lifetime access depending on the promotion
• Cannot be exchanged for monetary value
• May be revoked if obtained fraudulently or in violation of these terms

8. Intellectual Property

ShortList: Wedding Venues and all of its content, features, and functionality are owned by PerfectDay Technologies. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App or any part of its content.

Your venue data remains your property at all times. You retain full ownership of all content and data you create within the App.

9. Data and Privacy

ShortList: Wedding Venues is designed with your privacy in mind:

• All venue data is stored locally on your device
• No account or login is required
• Optional anonymous analytics are available with your explicit consent and can be disabled at any time in Settings
• You can export your data as JSON, CSV, or PDF at any time
• You can delete all your data from within the App

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Places API - for venue search and place details, routed via our API gateway
• RevenueCat - for subscription management and purchase verification
• PostHog - for optional anonymous usage analytics (opt-in only, EU-hosted)
• Apple App Store / Google Play - for app distribution and payment processing

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and conditions and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or terms.

11. Disclaimers

ShortList: Wedding Venues is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

• We do not guarantee the accuracy of venue scores or comparisons
• Venue information entered by users or retrieved from Google Places is not verified by us
• We are not responsible for any decisions made based on App data
• We are not liable for data loss - users should regularly export backups
• Third-party service availability (Google Places, RevenueCat) is outside our control

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PerfectDay Technologies and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

You may stop using ShortList: Wedding Venues at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms of Service.

Upon termination, your local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Your licence to use the App ends upon termination.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Material changes will be communicated through the App.

Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the App.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
